Who we are and what we do

After Hours Press, LLC is a Producer and Consultant in the development of Intellectual Properties (IP's). As an independent comic book publisher AHP has specialized in developing new IP and new franchises through comic books since 2001. AHP also consults on existing IP's and developing creator owned titles. Bringing ideas to life as comics, is a specialty of AHP.
After Hours Press was initially founded in 2001 by three comic book industry professionals, Darren Sanchez, Buddy Scalera and Chris Eliopoulos. Today, Sanchez is the sole proprietor and CEO/Publisher of the company. AHP specializes in the writing and production aspects of creating comics and IP development.
With professional experience in custom comic development the AHP, IP development group has brought clients' concepts to reality as comic book properties, including projects for The Boomer Esiason Foundation, Kraft (Cheesasaurus Rex), KFC, Nintendo and the Centsables, to name a few. Our team brings a strong level of professionalism to any concept and is available to discuss developing intellectual properties for clients.

AHP's stable of creators have worked with many major publishers including contributions on comics, books and multimedia materials, for DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, Aspen, Archie, Valiant, Top Cow, Disney Publishing, and Wizard Entertainment. While also generating creator owned projects, including Buddy Scalera's critically acclaimed ongoing series of Visual Reference Books and CD Rom's for Comic Artists.
Separate divisions of After Hours Press exist, including the IP Development and Custom Comic-Book group, and our Superhero line of comics, AFTER SHOCK COMICS.
The After Shock Comics, label was launched with Michael Dolce's heroic adventures of, THE SIRE. More Sire stories as well as other superhero books will likely be in AHP's future plans.

Darren Sanchez, co-founder of AHP, has created and written and/or developed numerous titles including, Genie the Genius, Aeronaut, Dead Money, Celestial Alliance, Foxwood Falcons, JAAT and Impossible Tales. A former U.S. Army, Chief Warrant Officer [CW2] and (AH-1) Attack Helicopter pilot, Sanchez is also a graphic designer, artist, writer, soccer dad and Master Jedi.
Entering the comic book industry in 1991 as Production Manager at Valiant/Acclaim Comics, then later moving on to VP Production for Wizard Entertainment, Sanchez has worked in all areas of development and production on magazines, comic books, and hardcover publications as well as multi-media (interactive dvd development) for Valiant Comics, Acclaim Entertainment, and Wizard Entertainment.
Sanchez has also co-written screenplays and optioned two creator owned After Hours Press properties (Foxwood Falcons & Celestial Alliance). He also co-wrote and Executive Produced an independent film titled, CRY, with Director, Scott Klein of Lights Out Productions.
